The nineteenth volume of this journal coinsides with the first year of the new century, and contains a large amount of miscellaneous literature and scraps of knowledge, and compares very well with previous volumes. Quite a number of new contribu. tors have assisted in this volume. We have no trumpets to blow for the future nor any promises to make, but purpose to continue on in the even tenor of our way. Our kindest thanks to

all patrons, correspondents, etc.
