§ 7. Fund eight. For interest on four million dollars fiftyyear four and one-quarter per centum bonds for the improvement of the Cayuga and Seneca canals contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter three hundred and ninety-one, laws of nineteen hundred and nine, chapter one hundred and thirtynine, laws of nineteen hundred and ten and chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen as amended by chapter two of the laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, one hundred and seventy thousand dollars ($170,000).

§ 8. Fund nine. For interest on five million dollars thirtyyear four and one-quarter per centum bonds for the construction of barge canal terminals contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter seven hundred and forty-six, laws of nineteen hundred and eleven, chapter seven hundred and eightyseven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen as amended by chapter two, laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, two hundred and twelve thousand five hundred dollars ($212,500).

§ 9. Fund ten. For interest on eight million dollars fifty-year four and one-quarter per centum bonds for the improvement of the Erie, Champlain and Oswego canals, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter one hundred and forty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and three and chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen, as amended by chapter two of the laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen. three hundred and forty thousand dollars ($340,000).

§ 10. Fund eleven. For interest on twenty-seven million dollars fifty-year four per centum bonds for the improvement of the Erie, Champlain and Oswego canals contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter one hundred and forty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and three and chapter five hundred and seventy, laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, one million and eighty thousand dollars ($1,080,000).

§ 11. Fund twelve. For interest on three million dollars thirty-year four per centum bonds for the construction of barge canal terminals, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter seven hundred and forty-six, laws of nineteen hundred and eleven, chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen and chapter two, laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, one hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($120,000).

§ 12. Fund thirteen. For interest on six million two hundred and fifty-six thousand dollars five per centum serial bonds for the construction of barge canal terminals, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter seven hundred and forty-six, laws of nineteen hundred and eleven, chapters three hundred and fifty-eight and five hundred and forty-five, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-one, three hundred and twelve thousand eight hundred dollars ($312,800).

HIGHWAY DEBT SINKING FUNDS. § 13. Fund one.

For interest on one million dollars fifty-year three per centum bonds for the improvement of highways contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter four hundred and sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and six, thirty thousand dollars ($30,000).

§ 14. Fund two. For interest on thirty-three million dollars fifty-year four per centum bonds for the improvement of highways, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter four hundred and sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and six as amended by chapter seven hundred and eighteen, laws of nineteen hundred and seven, one million three hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($1,320,000).

§ 15. Fund three. For interest on sixteen million dollars fiftyyear four and one-half per centum bonds for the improvement of highways, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter four hundred and sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and six as amended by chapter seven hundred and eighteen, laws of nineteen hundred and seven and chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen, seven hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($720,000).

For interest on five million dollars fifty-year four and one-half per centum bonds for the improvement of highways contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter two hundred and ninety-eight, laws of nineteen hundred and twelve and chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen, two hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($225,000).

§ 17. Fund five. For interest on ten million dollars fifty-year four and one-quarter per centum bonds for the improvement of highways contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter two hundred and ninety-eight, laws of nineteen hundred and twelve and chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen as amended by chapter two, laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, four hundred and twenty-five thousand dollars ($425,000).

§ 18. Fund six. For interest on fifteen million dollars fiftyyear four per centum bonds for the improvement of highways contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter two hundred and ninety-eight, laws of nineteen hundred and twelve, chapter seven hundred and eighty-seven, laws of nineteen hundred and thirteen as amended by chapter two, laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, six hundred thousand dollars ($600,000).

§ 19. Fund seven. For interest on eighteen million four hundred thousand dollars five per centum serial bonds for the improvement of highways contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter two hundred and ninety-eight, laws of nineteen hundred and twelve, chapters three hundred and fifty-eight and five hundred and forty-five, laws of nineteen hundred and twentyone, nine hundred and twenty thousand dollars ($920,000).

PALISADES INTERSTATE PARK DEBT SINKING FUNDS. § 20. Fund one. For interest on two million five hundred thousand dollars fifty-year four per centum bonds for the Palisades

FOREST PRESERVE DEBT SINKING FUNDS. § 22. Fund one. For interest on two million five hundred thousand dollars fifty-year four per centum bonds for the state forest preserve contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter five hundred and sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and sixteen, one hundred thousand dollars ($100,000).

§ 23. Fund two. For interest on four million six hundred thousand dollars five per centum serial bonds for state forest preserve, contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter five hundred and sixty-nine, laws of nineteen hundred and sixteen, chapters three hundred and fifty-eight and five hundred and forty-five, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-one, two hundred and thirty thousand dollars ($230,000).

WORLD WAR BONUS DEBT SINKING FUND. § 24. Fund one. For interest on forty-three million two hundred thousand dollars four and one-quarter per centum serial bonds for world war bonus, contracted under article seven, section thirteen, of the constitution and chapter nineteen of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-four, one million eight hundred thirty-six thousand dollars ($1,836,000).

STATE INSTITUTION BUILDINGS DEBT SINKING FUND. § 25. Fund one. For interest on twelve million five hundred thousand dollars twenty-five-year four per centum serial bonds for construction of buildings for state institutions contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter five hundred and ninety-one, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-three, and chapter seventy, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-four, five hundred thousand dollars ($500,000).

For six months interest on twelve million dollars twenty-fiveyear four per centum serial bonds for construction of buildings for state institutions contracted under article seven of the constitution, chapter five hundred and ninety-one, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-three and chapter seventy, laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-four, two hundred and forty thousand dollars $240,000).

26. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 231
AN ACT making appropriations for the office of the state treasurer and for

the naval militia in addition to those heretofore made.
Became a law April 1, 1925, with the approval of the Governor. Passed,

three-fifths being present. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The several amounts named in this act, or so much thereof as shall be sufficient to accomplish the purpose designated by the appropriation, are hereby appropriated to the respective public offices and for the several purposes specified, which amounts shall be available for the year beginning on the first day of July, nineteen hundred and twenty-five, namely:

CHAPTER 232
AN ACT to provide for the experimental study of the problems of increasing

the production and controlling the disease and injurious insects of vege-
tables and fruit crops grown for canning, and making appropriations

therefor. Became a law April 1, 1925, with the approval of the Governor. Passed,

three-fifths being present. The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. In order to promote the production of improved

varieties and larger and better crops of vegetables and fruits suited University. for canning purposes and thereby to promote the agricultural and

industrial development of the state and to aid in insuring a better diet for the general public, the trustees of Cornell University, as agents of the state in the administration of the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station at Geneva, are hereby authorized to rent suitable lands and buildings within the districts of the state in which canning crops are largely grown, to employ the necessary scientists, laborers and other needed assistants; to purchase necessary equipment and supplies and to provide all proper facilities and conditions for the special experimental study of the problems

of fertilizing the land, selecting and improving the seed stocks used, properly rotating the crops, harvesting and transporting the products so as to increase the yields and quality, from vegetable and fruit crops grown to be canned or otherwise preserved for later use; study the problems of controlling the insect pests and fungous diseases of canning crops and such other investigations as may be needful for the proper accomplishment of the purposes of this bill.

§ 2. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of section Approone of this act, there is hereby appropriated out of any moneys in the treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be paid by the state treasurer upon the warrant of the comptroller upon the certification of the treasurer of Cornell University, the following sums in addition to those provided in the general appropriation act for the New York State Agricultural Experiment Station at Geneva.

four for carrying out the provisions of chapter four hundred and fifty-nine
of the laws of nineteen hundred and nineteen, relating to war contracts, to

the extent of the unexpended, unobligated balance of such reappropriation.
Became a law April 1, 1925, with the approval of the Governor. Passed,

three-fifths being present.
