By chapter 53, section 1, of the laws of 1991, as amended by chapter 407, section 4, and chapter 408, section 2, of the laws of 1991: An operating assistance subprogram for enriched housing is established and shall be suballocated to the department of social services. The department, to the extent that funds are appropriated for such purposes, is authorized to pay an operating subsidy for SSI recipients who are residents in certified not-for-profit or public enriched housing programs. Such subsidy shall not exceed $115 per month per each SSI recipient and will be paid directly to the certified operator. If appropriations are not sufficent to meet such maximum monthly payment, such subsidy shall be reduced proportionately [313,000] 250,400 [(re. $313,000)] (re. $250,400)

RURAL HOMEOWNERSHIP ASSISTANCE PROGRAM

There is hereby created a rural homeownership assistance program under article XVII of the private housing finance law through which the commissioner shall enter into contracts with corporations incorporated pursuant to the not-for-profit corporation law for the performance of specific services to assist persons of low income in the acquisition and financing of 1 to 4 family homes and the maintenance and repair of such housing owned by persons of low income. $100,000 of such appropriation shall be provided to the Rural Housing Coalition for the administration of such program 750,000.
