LEATHERETTE.

LEATHERETTE is an article now well known to the trade, and, without falsifying or exaggeration, it is destined to be more extensively used for bookbinding than any other material. It certainly possesses-Beauty, as it is used extensively for silver cases, papeteries, passe-partouts, etc.; Flexibility, as it covers picture frames, boxes of all shapes, and embosses for wall paper; Durability, as it finds a market for the inner soles of shoes, desk and table tops, the bands of feather dusters, covering for whip handles, etc.; and it is certainly suitable for book-binding, as it is hard to distinguish it from leather, it imitates it so exactly, and it takes ink, lithographing, and gilding with fine effect.

Individuals or firms wishing a set of books covered with a binding both durable and waterproof, cannot do better than use LEATHERETTE, as for the same price as book-cloth they can have grain of the seal, levant, or morocco, straight or pebbled, russia or skiver, and each grain in all desir able colors. Samples will be sent free on application to
