The Senatus has appointed a committee of its members for the purpose of directing and concatenating the studies of such graduates and undergraduates as purpose to become candidates for Civil Service appointments. Those intending to prepare for the Examination are requested to communicate, as early as possible in their course, with Professor Harrower, King's College. SERVICE IN OFFICERS' TRAINING CORPS TO BE TAKEN INTO ACCOUNTS The Civil Service Commissioners have decided to give candidates. in the joint examination for the Home (Administrative) Civil Service, Indian Civil Service, Foreign Office, Diplomatic and Consular Services, and Eastern Cadetships in the Colonial Services, an opportunity of drawing attention to any service they may have rendered in the Officers' Training Corps. At the same time University authorities, to whom the Commissioners refer for details of the candidates University career, will be invited to mention any prominence attained by a candidate in his University Contingent of the Officers' Training Corps. These statements will be before the interviewing board before which candidates appear for the viva voce test. 1. EXAMINATIONS FOR THE CIVIL SERVICE. Concurrently with the examination for the Indian Civil Service, and such examinations for the Colonial and Foreign Services as are held therewith, an Open Competitive examination will be held in July and August for appointment to the Junior Grade of the Administrative Class in the Home Civil Service. The full regulations for this examination will be obtainable on application being made to the Civil Service Commission. The limits of age for candidates is 22 to 24 on 1st August of the year in which the competition is held, with extension for service in the regular Army, the Royal Navy and the Royal Air Force. The competition for the Home Civil Service will be open both to men and women. Oriental Languages.-Arabic is taught by Professor J. Gilroy, D.D., Professor of Hebrew and Semitic Languages.
