GOLD MEDAL FOR M.D. OR D.Sc. THESIS.

A Gold Medal instituted in 1912 by Scottish Graduates in the Straits Settlements, is awarded in the Universities of Aberdeen, Edinburgh, and Glasgow in turn, for the best Thesis submitted for the Degrees of M.D. or D.Sc. on a Tropical Medical subject. The next award of the Medal in Aberdeen will take place in the year 1929 for a Thesis handed in during any of the years 1927, 1928 or 1929.

POST-GRADUATE SCHOOL OF THEOLOGY.

The Post-Graduate School has been instituted (1922) for the purpose of providing advanced teaching in the several Departments of Theology, and also of advising duly qualified students desiring to proceed to the Degree of Ph.D. in Theology.

The regular teachers in the School are the Professors in the Faculty of Divinity and the Professors of the United Free Church College, Aberdeen, with whom certain other Professors and Lecturers of the University will be associated.

The regular teachers above-named form the Board of PostGraduate Studies in Theology, which is responsible for the management of the School, under the direction of the Senatus Academicus and University Court.

The subjects of instruction are grouped in four departments, as follows:

I. The Old Testament and Semitic Languages.

Reading and Exegesis, with Introduction, of selected books of the Old Testament in Hebrew. Post-biblical Hebrew, Aramaic, Syriac, Arabic. Advanced courses in Old Testament History, Literature, and Theology.

II. The New Testament and Early Christian Literature.

Reading and Exegesis, with Introduction, of selected books of the New Testament in Greek. Hellenistic Greek, Greek Apocalyptic Literature, Early Patristic Literature. Palæography of the New Testament Documents. Advanced courses in New Testament Introduction, Literature and Theology.

III. Church History.

Advanced courses on selected periods and topics of Church History, with special study of the sources. History of the Polity and Worship of the Church, History of Christian Missions.

IV. Systematic Theology.

Advanced courses in Apologetics and the System of Christian Doctrine, Christian Ethics, the History of Religions, the Psychology and Philosophy of Religion.

Admission to the School is open to (1) Graduates in Divinity of a University specially recognised for the purpose by the University Court on the recommendation of the Senatus Academicus; (2) Holders of a Diploma or Exit Certificate from a Theological College or Seminary recognised as aforesaid; (3) Other applicants who are able to satisfy the Board of Post-Graduate Studies of their fitness to undertake advanced study in one or other of the Departments above specified.

Intimation of the days and hours of the several courses will be posted at King's College, Marischal College and the United Free Church College before the commencement of each Term.

FEES, ETC.

The fee for a Term course of eighteen meetings is £2 2s.; for three such courses in one Term £5 5s. ; and for a half course of nine meetings £1 1s. The classes will not count for graduation or as a period of research under University Court Ordinance No. 89, Aberdeen No. 10 [Regulations for the Degree of Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)] unless the Matriculation Fee has been paid before attendance on the class. Matriculation for the year, £2 28.; for the Summer Term only, £1 18.

Applicants for admission to the School are required to give notice of the courses for which they desire to enter, and to show evidence of their qualifications, to the Secretary of the Board of Post-Graduate Studies not later than 1st September, 1st December and 1st March, for the respective ensuing Terms. Matriculation and Payment of Fees will take place at the office of the Secretary to the University, Marischal College, on dates which will be notified on the College Notice Boards.
