Royal Infirmary on one day per week during terms, the day to be advertised by the posting of a notice at the entrances to the Royal Infirmary and to the Out-patient Department. Any such student, failing to record his attendance through inadvertence, illness, or any other cause, will be required to produce adequate proof that he has been in attendance during the week in question, or, in the case of absence, a medical certificate or other satisfactory excuse.

FIRST TERM.-Instruction is given in methods of examination, in "physical signs," in the use of clinical instruments, in side-room work, etc. On one day in the week, as a rule, a Clinical Lecture is given to the whole class by the Physicians in rotation.

SECOND AND THIRD TERMS.-Case taking is begun at once and continued throughout both terms. The students' notes are largely used as a basis for daily Ward-Demonstrations and Bedside Instruction. The weekly Lecture to the whole class is continued.

Students in their FINAL YEAR of study (i.e. who have completed the course of Clinical Medicine), have senior cliniques twice weekly in the wards at the Infirmary -at hours which will not interfere with attendance on courses in the Special Departments; they are also expected and strongly urged to attend the Medical Out-patient Department.

A course of clinical instruction in pulmonary tuberculosis is given to classes of a size allowing to each student opportunities of examination. The clinical signs in all kinds and grades of pulmonary tuberculosis are demonstrated and interpreted with a view to an accurate diagnosis and estimate of the amount and activity of disease. Radiograms are utilised for comparison with clinical findings, and radioscopy is available.

The course is one of twenty hours, comprising nine clinical meetings, of two hours and two lectures of one hour. The lectures deal, as fully as is possible, with classification, prognosis and treatment.
