Let the people praise Thee, Lord;
Earth shall then her fruits afford,-
God to man His blessing give,
Man to God devoted live;
All below, and all above,

One in joy and light and love.

Saturday Evening.

SUN of my soul! Thou Saviour dear,
It is not night if Thou be near :
O may no earthborn cloud arise
To hide Thee from Thy servant's eyes.

When the soft dews of kindly sleep
My wearied eyelids gently steep,
Be my last thought, how sweet to rest
For ever on my Saviour's breast.

Abide with me from morn till eve,
For without Thee I cannot live;
Abide with me when night is nigh,
For without Thee I dare not die.

If some poor wandering child of Thine Have spurned to-day the voice divine, Now, Lord, the gracious work begin; Let him lie down no more in sin.

Watch by the sick : enrich the poor
With blessings from Thy boundless store :
Be every mourner's sleep to-night
Like infant's slumbers, pure and light.

Come near and bless us when we wake,
Ere through the world our way we take :
Till in the ocean of Thy love
We lose ourselves in heaven above.

PRAYERS FOR SPECIAL OCCASIONS.

For Sunday Morning.

O GOD the Father, Who didst, as on this day, create the light, and enlighten the world; do Thou send the true light into our hearts, that we may at length attain to the light of everlasting life. Amen.

O God the Son, Who didst, as on this day, rise again from the dead; we meekly beseech Thee so to raise us from the death of sin unto the life of righteousness, that, at the last day, we may rise to meet Thee in glory, when Thou comest into Thine eternal kingdom. Amen.

O God the Holy Ghost, Who didst, as on this day, descend upon the apostles; grant that we, who have been born again by Thee, may, by Thy guidance, have a right judgment in all things, and evermore rejoice in Thy holy comfort. Amen.

O Holy, blessed, and glorious Trinity, Three Persons, and One God, have mercy upon us, and grant that we may both keep holy this Thy day of rest, and also may attain to Thine everlasting rest in the world to come. Amen.

LORD Jesu Christ, Who hast declared that where two or three are gathered together in Thy Name, there Thou art in the midst of them, be present, we beseech Thee, with us. We acknowledge that, when we have been able to attend the worship of Thy Church, we have too often been inattentive and careless; grant that, if we are again allowed to join in Thy services, we may do so with more reverence and godly fear, and be pleased now to offer up our imperfect prayers and praises to God the Father, to Whom with Thee, and the Holy Ghost, be all honour and glory, world without end. Amen.

A Litany to be said on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.

O GOD the Father of heaven have mercy upon us miserable sinners.

O God the Son, Redeemer of the world; have mercy upon us miserable sinners.

O God the Holy Ghost, proceeding from the Father and the Son: have mercy upon us miserable sinners.

O holy, blessed, and glorious Trinity, Three Persons and One God: have mercy upon us miserable sinners.

Remember not, Lord, our offences, nor the offences of our forefathers; neither take Thou vengeance of our sins: spare us, good Lord, spare Thy people, whom Thou hast redeemed with Thy most precious blood, and be not angry with us for ever.

Spare us, good Lord.

O Thou, Who in the midst of a tempest, didst appear walking on the sea, and, when Thine apostles were affrighted, saidst, "It is I,
