Our faith is weak: O Light of Light!
Clear Thou our clouded view;
That Son of man, and Son of God,
We give Thee honour due.

O Son of man! Thyself hast proved
Our trials and our tears,

Life's thankless toil and scant repose,
Death's agonies and fears:

Incarnate God! in glory raised

Thou sittest on Thy Throne: Thence by Thy pleadings and Thy grace, Still succouring Thine own.

Brother and Saviour, Friend and Judge!
To Thee, O Christ, is given

To bind upon Thy crown the names
Most blest in earth and heaven.

Thursday Morning.

GLORY to our mighty King!

Crowns unfading wreathe His head;

Jesus is the Name we sing,

Jesus risen from the dead;

Jesus conqueror o'er the grave,
Lord Almighty now to save.

Jesus is gone up on high;

Angels come to meet their King;
Shouts triumphant rend the sky,
While the Victor's praise they sing.
Open now, ye heavenly gates!
See, the King of Glory waits!

Now behold Him high enthroned,
Glory beaming from His face;
By adoring angels owned,

God of holiness and grace.
Oh for hearts and tongues to sing

Glory to our mighty King!

Jesu, on Thy people shine;

Warm our hearts and tune our tongues;

That with angels we may join,

Share their bliss and swell their songs;

Glory, honour, praise, and power,

Lord, be Thine for evermore.

Thursday Evening.

O CHRIST! Our hope, our heart's desire,

Redemption's only spring!

Creator of the world art Thou,

Its Saviour, and its King.

How vast the mercy and the love,
Which laid our sins on Thee,
And led Thee to a cruel death,
To set Thy people free!

But now the bonds of death are burst,
The ransom hath been paid;
And Thou art on Thy Father's throne,
In robes of light arrayed.

O may Thy mighty love prevail,
Our sinful souls to spare!

O may we come before Thy Throne,
And find acceptance there.

O Christ be Thou our present joy,
Our future great reward!
Our only glory may it be,
To glory in the Lord!

Friday Morning.

Rock of Ages! cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee;

Let the Water and the Blood,
From Thy riven side which flow'd,
Be of sin the double cure,

Cleanse me from its guilt and power.

Nothing in my hand I bring,
Only to Thy Cross I cling.
Could my tears for ever flow,
Could my zeal no languor know,
All for sin could not atone;
Thou must save and Thou alone.

While I draw this fleeting breath,
When mine eyelids close in death,
When I rise to worlds unknown,
See Thee on Thy judgment throne,
Rock of ages! cleft for me,
Let me hide myself in Thee.

Friday Ebening.

Son of Man! to Thee we cry;
By the holy mystery

Of Thy dwelling here on earth,
By Thy pure and holy birth,—
Lord, Thy presence let us see,
Thou our Light and Saviour be!

Lamb of God! to Thee we cry;
By Thy bitter agony,
By Thy pangs to us unknown,
By Thy Spirit's parting groan,-
Lord, Thy presence let us see,
Thou our Light and Saviour be!

Prince of life! to Thee we cry;
By Thy glorious majesty,
By Thy triumph o'er the grave,
Who alone art strong to save,—
Lord, Thy presence let us see,
Thou our Light and Saviour be!

Lord of glory! God most high!
Man exalted to the sky!

With Thy love our bosoms fill,
Prompt us to perform Thy will;
Then Thy glory we shall see,
Thou wilt. bring us home to Thee.

Saturday Morning.

GOD of mercy! God of grace!
Show the brightness of Thy face;
Shine upon us, Saviour, shine,
Fill Thy Church with light divine;
And Thy saving health extend
Unto earth's remotest end.

Let the people praise Thee, Lord;
Let Thy love on all be pour'd;
Let the nations shout and sing
Glory to their Saviour King,
At Thy feet their tribute pay,
And Thy holy will obey.
