Diary in America

CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, 2017 M07 9 - 604 páginas
One of a number of memoirs about traveling in America, written by British travelers through the nineteenth century. Breezy, humorous, interesting (especially his observations of New York City), less mean-spirited than some of the more popular ones in this particular sub genre. Interesting anecdotes for those who know the upper northeast and the Canadian border country, out to the lakes.

Acerca del autor (2017)

Captain Frederick Marryat (10 July 1792 - 9 August 1848) was a British Royal Navy officer, a novelist, and an acquaintance of Charles Dickens. He is noted today as an early pioneer of the sea story, particularly for his semi-autobiographical novel Mr Midshipman Easy (1836), for his children's novel The Children of the New Forest (1847), and for a widely used system of maritime flag signalling, known as Marryat's Code.
