UNIVERSITY OF CHICAGO JOURNAL OF THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE STATE OF MISSOURI, AT THE CALLED SESSION, BEGUN AND HELD AT THE CITY OF JEFFER- THE GOVERNOR, ISSUED ON THE TWENTY-SECOND SESSION OF THE TWENTY-FIRST GENERAL ASSEMBLY. I, Claiborne F. Jackson, Governor of the State of Missouri, by virtue of authority vested in me by the constitution, do hereby convene the Legislature of this State; and the Senators and Representatives of the Twentyfirst session of the General Assembly, are hereby required to be and appear in their respective places, at the Capitol in the City of Jefferson, on Thursday, the 2nd day of May, A. D. 1861, for the purpose of enacting such laws and adopting such measures as may be deemed necessary and proper for the more perfect organization and equipment of the militia of this State, and to raise the money and such other means as may be required to place the State in proper attitude of defense.
