Thou dost conduct Thy people
Through torrents of temptation;
Nor will we fear, While Thou art near,
The fire of tribulation.

The world with sin and Satan

In vain our march opposes;

By Thee we shall Break through them all,
Till death the conflict closes.

By faith we see the glory,

To which Thou shalt restore us;
The world despise For that high prize,
Which Thou hast set before us.

And, if Thou count us worthy,
We each as dying Stephen,

Shall see Thee stand At GOD's right Hand,
To take us up to heaven.

HYMN CCXLV.

GUIDE us, O Thou Great JEHOVAH,
Pilgrims through this barren land;
We are weak, but Thou are mighty;
Hold us with Thy powerful Hand.

P. M.

Bread of Heaven! Feed us till we want no more.

Open Thou the living fountain,

Whence the healing waters flow;

Let the fiery, cloudy, pillar,

Lead us all our journey through:

Strong Deliverer! Be Thou still our strengthand shield.

When we tread the verge of Jordan,
Bid our anxious fears subside;

Bear us through the swelling torrent,
Land us safe on Canaan's side:

Songs of praises We will ever give to Thee.

346

HYMN CCXLVI.

LORD, dismiss us with Thy Blessing;
Bid us all depart in peace;

Let us each, Thy Love possessing,
Triumph in redeeming Grace:

P. M.

O refresh us, Travelling through this wilderness.
Thanks we give, and adoration,
For the Gospel's joyful sound:
May the fruits of Thy salvation
In our hearts and lives abound:
May Thy Presence With us evermore be found.
So, whene'er the signal's given
Us from earth to call away,
Borne on angels' wings to heaven,
Glad the summons to obey,

May we ever Reign with Christ in endless day.

347

HYMN CCXLVII.

SAVIOUR! we part awhile,

Yet still in spirit joined,

Each to the daily toil

Thou hast to each assigned:

And while we do Thy Blessed Will,
O shed Thy peace within us still.
Haste, haste the happy day

That calls us to our Home!
The heavens shall pass away,

The earth receive her doom;

Earth we shall see and heaven destroyed,
And shout above the fiery void.

According to Thy Word,

Thy solemn promise given,

We look to see restored

The ruined earth and heaven-
In a new world Thy Truth to prove,
A world of righteousness and love.

P. M.

Then let us wait the sound,
That shall our souls release,
And labour to be found

Of Thee in spotless peace—
In perfect holiness renewed,

Adorned with CHRIST, and meet for GOD.

348

HYMN CCXLVIII.

DISMISS us with Thy Blessing, LORD;
Help us to feed upon Thy Word;
All Thou hast marked amiss forgive,
And let Thy Truth within us live.
Though we are guilty, Thou art Good;
O cleanse our souls in JESUS' Blood;
Give every troubled soul release,
And bid us all depart in peace.

HYMN CCXLIX.

Now may He, Who from the dead
Brought the Shepherd of the sheep-
JESUS CHRIST, our King and Head-
All our souls in safety keep!

May He teach us to fulfil

What is pleasing in His sight-

Perfect us in all His Will,

And preserve us day and night!

HYяN CCL.

May the Grace of Christ our Saviour,
And the Father's boundless Love,
With the Holy Spirit's Favour,
Rest upon us from above.

Thus may we abide in union,

With each other and the LORD;
And possess, in sweet communion,
Joys which earth cannot afford.

8.7.

PRAISE GOD, from Whom all blessings flow;
Praise Him, all creatures here below;
Prase Him above, ye heavenly host;
Praise FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST.

TO FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST,
One GOD, Whom we adore,
Be Glory as it was, is now,
And shall be evermore.

TO GOD the FATHER, SON,
And SPIRIT, Glory be,

As 'twas, and is, and shall be so,
To all eternity.

GOD, from Whom all blessings flow-
Praise Him, creatures here below,
Praise Him, all ye heavenly host-
FATHER, SON, and HOLY GHOST.

PRAISE and Honour to the FATHER,

Praise and Honour to the SON,
Praise and Honour to the SPIRIT,
Ever Three and ever One,
Con-substantial, Co-eternal,
While succeeding ages run.

By angels in Heaven, Of every degree,
And saints upon earth All praise be addrest
To GOD in Three Persons, One GOD ever Blest,
As it has been, now is, And always shall be.

TO GOD the FATHER, SON,
And SPIRIT ever Blest,
Eternal Three-in-One,

All worship be addrest;

As heretofore It was, is now,
And shall be so For evermore.

Again the Lord of life and light
All hail the great Immanuel's name
All praise to Thee, in light arrayed
All we, like wandering sheep, have
Almighty Father! God of grace!
Almighty God, before Thy th.one
Almighty God, the pure, the just!
Almighty God, Thy throne above
Almighty God, whose love displayed
Author of good! to Thee we turn
Awake, my soul, and with the sun
Awake, my soul, stretch every nerve
Before Jehovah's awful thronc
Before Thy mercy's throne

Behold the bright and morning Star 180
Behold what wondrous grace
331
Beset with snares on every hand 302
Blessing, honour, thanks and praise
Blest be the everlasting God.
Blest be this happy morn.

Far from these narrow scenes of
Father, by Thy love and power
Father of all and God of love
Father of faithful Abraham, hear
Father of Heaven, whose love
Father of Mercies, Fount of Love
Father of Mercies, in Thy Word
Forth from the dark and stormy sky
Forth in Thy name, O Lord, we go.
Fountain of Mercy! God of Love!
From all that dwell below the skies
From Greenland's icy mountains
From Thee, O God of purity

Glorious things of Thee are spoken
Glory to God, who sent His Star
Glory to Thee, my God, this night
God is gone up on high.
God of mercy, God of grace

Blest morning, whose first dawning
Bounteous Source of every blessing
Bright the vision, that delighted
Brought to the Font with holy care
By Thy birth and early years
Children of the Heavenly King
Christians, awake, salute the happy
Christians, in heart and mind
