Mary Caroline Crawford (1874-1932) was an American author. While still in school she was determined to become a writer and started her career by writing for the school newspaper and later for some other publications. Some of these writings were collected in The Romance of Old New England Rooftrees (1902). She has other books on New England such as The Romance of Old New England Churches (1903), Little Journeys in Old New England (1906), Old Boston Days and Ways (1909), Romantic Days in Old Boston (1910), Social Life in Old New England (1914), Old New England Inns (1924) and Famous Families of Massachusetts (1930). She was also involved in social issues. Her other works include: Goethe and His Women Friends (1911) and The Romance of the American Theatre (1913).
