On motion, H. B. No. 64, "A bill for an act to authorize Joel H. Johnson to keep a ferry across the Loup Fork at Genoa in Monroe county," Was referred to select committee of one, viz: Mr. Steele. Mr. Steinberger from select committee to which was referred, H. B. No. 40, " An act for the encouragement and protection of live fences," Reported the same back amended by inserting the enacting clause. Mr. Clark from select committee to which was referred, H. B. No. 52, "A bill for an act to authorize R. W. Frame to keep a ferry across the Missouri river at Peru, Nemaha county," Reported the same back with the following amendments, viz: In section one, strike out "employed", and insert "empowered," In section five, strike out an action of debt," and insert "civil action."
