APPENDIX B.

EXAMINATIONS FOR THE CIVIL SERVICE OF INDIA.

An Examination for admission to the Civil Service of India, open to all qualified persons, is held in London in August of each year for such number of appointments to that Service as the Secretary of State may on each occasion determine. The date of Examination and the number of appointments to be made for each province are announced beforehand by the Civil Service Commissioners. Copies of the Regulations containing particulars as to conditions of admission to the Examination, Syllabus of Subjects, etc., may be seen in the Library, King's College.

CIVIL SERVICE EXAMINATIONS COMMITTEE.

The Senatus has appointed a committee of its members for the purpose of directing and concatenating the studies of such graduates and undergraduates as purpose to become candidates for Civil Service appointments. Those intending to prepare for the Examination are requested to communicate, as early as possible in their course, with Professor Harrower, King's College.

INDIAN CIVIL SERVICE, ETC., APPOINTMENTS.

The following Students of the University of Aberdeen have obtained appointments in the Civil Service of India by public competition; after 1895 the list includes also those who have gained (1) Class I. Clerkships in the Home Civil Service, and (2) Eastern Cadetships :
