21. Town's GOLD MEDAL. A Gold Medal was given annually from 1851 to 1913 (1851-60 at Marischal College) by the Magistrates and Town Council of Aberdeen to the most distinguished scholar at the termination of the Arts Curriculum ; since 1914 two gold medals have been given in the Departments of Language and Philosophy, and of Science.
