ALMIGHTY God! thy word is cast
Like seed into the ground;
Now let the dew of heaven descend,
And righteous fruits abound.

Let not the foe of Christ and man
This holy seed remove;
But give it root in every heart,

To bring forth fruits of love.

Let not the world's deceitful cares
The rising blade destroy;
But let it yield an hundredfold,
The fruits of peace and joy.

Oft as the precious seed is sown,
Thy quick'ning grace bestow,

That all whose souls the truth receive
Its saving power may know.

CHRISTIAN brethren, ere we part,
Let us all, with grateful heart,
Once more to our Father raise
Our united hymn of praise.

Here perhaps we meet no more;
But we seek a brighter shore,
Where, releas'd from sin and pain,
Brethren, we shall meet again.

To the Triune God of heaven
Love and praise be ever given;
Here and by his hosts above,
Endless praise, adoring love!

LORD, dismiss us with thy blessing,
Fill our hearts with joy and peace;
Let us each, thy love possessing,
Triumph in redeeming grace:
O refresh us!

Trav'lling through this wilderness.

Thanks we give and adoration,
For the Gospel's joyful sound;
May the fruits of thy salvation
In our hearts and lives abound:
May thy presence

With us evermore be found.

So whene'er the signal given
Calls us from the earth away,
Borne on angels' wings to heaven,
Glad the summons to obey,
May we ever

Reign with Christ in endless day!

MAY the grace of Christ our Saviour,
And the Father's boundless love,
With the Holy Spirit's favour,

Rest upon us from above:

Thus may we abide in union

With each other and the Lord,
And possess in sweet communion
Joys which earth can ne'er afford.

SAVIOUR, who thy flock art feeding
With the Shepherd's kindest care,
All the feeble gently leading,
While the lambs thy bosom share:

Now, thy little ones receiving,
Fold them in thy gracious arm;
There, we know, thy word believing,
Only there secure from harm.

8.7.

Keep them safe from ever roving,
Let them not be Satan's prey;
Let thy watchful care so loving
Guard them through life's dang'rous way.
Then, within thy fold in heaven,
Let them find their rest above;
Feed in pastures by Thee given,
Drink the rivers of thy love.

IN token that thou shalt not fear
Christ crucified to own,

We print the cross upon thy brow,
And mark thee His alone:

In token that thou shalt not fear
Christ's conflict to maintain,
But 'neath his banner manfully
Firm at thy post remain :

In token that thou too shalt tread
The path He travell'd by,

Endure the cross, despise the shame,
And set thee down on high:

Thus outwardly and visibly

We seal thee for his own :

And may the brow that wears his cross
Hereafter share his crown.

Lord's Supper.

BREAD of heaven! on Thee we feed,

For thy flesh is meat indeed;

Ever let our souls be fed

With this true and living bread.

Lord of heaven! thy wounded side
Hath the blessed cup supplied;
Pardon in thy cross we see,
May thy stripes our healing be.
Mighty Saviour! risen Lord!
Day by day thy strength afford :
Jesus, let us ever be
Rooted, grafted, built on Thee.

ACCORDING to thy gracious word,
In meek humility,

This will I do, my dying Lord,

I will remember Thee.

Thy body, broken for my sake,

My bread from heaven shall be;
Thy cup of blessing will I take,
And thus remember Thee.
Remember Thee, and all thy pains,
And all thy love to me;

Yea, while a breath, a pulse remains,
Will I remember Thee.

MY God, and is thy table spread,

And doth thy cup with love o'erflow?
Thither be all thy children led,

And let them all thy sweetness know.

Hail, sacred feast, which Jesus makes,
Rich banquet of his flesh and blood!
Thrice happy he who here partakes

That sacred stream, that heavenly food.

O! let thy table honour'd be,

And furnish'd well with joyful guests;
And may each soul salvation see,

That here its sacred pledges tastes.

Revive thy dying churches, Lord,
And bid our drooping graces live;
And more, that energy afford,
A Saviour's blood alone can give.

91

SAVIOUR unseen, yet ever near,
Thy presence may we feel;

And thus inspir'd with holy fear,
Before thy table kneel.

Here may thy faithful people know

The blessings of thy love;

The streams that through the desert flow,
The manna from above.
