Fond of these earthly toys;

To reach eternal joys.

And our devotion dies.
Dear Lord, and shall we ever be
In this poor dying state;
Our love so faint, so cold to Thee,
And thine to us so great?

Come, shed abroad a Saviour's love,
And that shall kindle ours.
GRACIOUS Spirit, Love divine,
