In folly from Thy paths have turned, 2 Sins of omission, and of act, 3 O spare us, Lord-in mercy spare, Through Him, who suffered on the cross, 4 And grant, O Father, for His sake, 1 15. LENT. HELP us, Lord; each hour of need Thy heavenly succour give: Help us in thought, and word, and deed, Each hour on earth we live. 2 O help us when our spirits bleed And when our hearts are cold and dead, 3 O help us, through the prayer of faith For still the more Thy servant hath, 4 O help us, Saviour! from on high; O help us so to live and die 1 16. LENT. OH Thou, whose merey, truth, and love, From age to age endure, Whose word, though heaven and earth remove Thy guilty creatures fall; And plead the Saviour's precious blood, So freely shed for all. 2 The sanctifying Spirit give, To make us pure within; That we may serve Thee while we live, And hate all works of sin.
