The sea is His, and He made it. O Thou, Who didst on the third day gather together the waters and make the dry land appear: Who didst bid the grass bring forth his seed and the tree his fruit; R. He appointed the moon for certain seasons. R. And the sun knoweth his going down. Thou hast prepared the light and the sun. THURSDAY. GOD. O GOD, Thou art my R. Early will I seek Thee. Antiphon. Set up Thyself, O GOD, above the heavens. V. Blessed art Thou, O LORD JESUS, Who didst as on this day ascend into heaven. R. He ascended into heaven and sitteth on the right hand of God the FATHER ALMIGHTY. V. By Thy ascension, O LORD, draw us after Thee: R. That we savour of what is above, not of things of the earth.
