Edition of The Journal of John Woolman, there has been another and noteworthy re-issue of this Quaker classic. It was published by Mr. Edward Arnold, and the edition was limited to 250 copies. A description of the contents and style of the book is given below :

A Journal of the Life and Travels of John Woolman in the service of the Gospel, containing the Journal only, beginning “I have often felt a motion" and ending "without sigh, groan, or struggle." There is added in this edition "Here ends the Journal of John Woolman, the best of Friends, to whom the Essex House Press would do honour by recording his work in a manner worthy of him. To this end the book has been printed on the guarantee of Mr. John W. Pease and other Friends, with a Frontispiece by Reginald Savage, and under the care of C. R. Ashbee, Essex House Press, Bow, MDCCCCI."

Published in England by Edward Arnold, 37, Bedford Street, Strand, 250 copies, and sold in America by Samuel Buckley & Co., 100, William Street, New York.

It was reprinted from the Whittier editions, 390 pages, 16mo., 6" by 43", in red and black on hand-made paper, with numerous fancy initials, and bound in white vellum.

The above, it will be seen, is an Edition-de-luxe, being subscribed at Two Guineas net, and is an important addition to the Bibliography.

LONDON, 1903.
