XLI.

HOW goodly are thy tents O Jacob;
And thy tabernacles O Israel.

As the valleys are they set forth: as gardens by the river side.

XLII.

SLEEPERS, awake! a voice is calling,
it is the watchman on the walls,
thou city of Jerusalem:

For lo! the Bridegroom comes :
Arise, and take your lamps. Hallelujah.
Awake! His Kingdom is at hand :
Go forth to meet your Lord.

[Mendelssohn.

A. PALMER, PRINTER, &C., BROMSGROVE.

Index to the Psalms.

ALL people that on earth do dwell
Arise, O God! and here possess
Arise, ye people, clap the hand
As pants the hart for cooling streams

BLESS, Lord, with long and prosperous life
Blest be the Lord, whose heavenly power
Blest is the man who fears the Lord
By morning light I'll seek his face

CONSIDER that the righteous man

Do thou, my soul, on God rely

FROM lowest depths of woe

Great is the Lord, and with great praise

HAPPY the man, whose tender care....

Hear me, O Lord, in my distress

Hear us, O Lord, thy heavenly succour send

14

How bless'd, whose sins have pardon gained..

22

How blest is he who ne'er hath lent
How blest, O Lord, are they who keep

66

How blest the lot of those, how sweet

72

How good and pleasant too it is
How long wilt thou be angry, Lord?
How long wilt thou forget to hear
How perfect is the law of God

I CALL to mind thy works of old
In mercy, not in wrath, rebuke
In Thee, O Lord, I put my trust

JUDGE me, O Lord, for I the paths....

LET all the just to God, with joy
Lift up your heads, eternal gates
Lord! for thy wondrous power and love
Lord! hear my prayer, and let my cry
Lord, hear the voice of my complaint
Lord! our grief is turned to gladness
Lord! Thou art good, nor only good ..
Lord! Thou hast been from age to age
Lord, Thou hast granted to our sins
Lord! when I lift my voice to Thee
Lord! who's the happy man that may

MATCHLESS thy form, O heavenly king
Me, howsoe'er distressed and poor....
My soul, inspired with sacred love
NOT unto us, Almighty Lord!

O come, loud anthems let us sing
O God, my heart is fix'd, is bent
O God, my strength and fortitude
O God of hosts! the mighty Lord!..
O God, our Lord, in earth how great

O God, who hast our strength dispersed
Oh God, Thou art my God, to Thee
O Lord, our King! angelic powers..
On Thee I wait, 'tis on thy strength
O praise the Lord in that blest place..
O render thanks to God above
Our ears have heard our fathers tell

PRAISE God, O my soul, O rejoice in his name
Praise ye the Lord, our God to praise
Preserve me, Lord, my soul defend

SINCE I have placed in God my trust
Sing to the Lord a new made song
Sing to our Lord a new made song,

TEACH me, O Lord, how frail I am..
The heavens declare thy glory, Lord
The king, O Lord, with songs of praise
The Lord from out his heavenly throne
The Lord hath spoke-the awful sound
The Lord Himself, the mighty Lord..
The Lord is King, let all the earth...
The Lord of glory is my light
The Lord, our God, a King remaineth
Though wicked men grow rich and great
Thou, Lord, by strictest search hast known
Thou, O great God, art my defence
Through all the changing scenes of life
Throw open wide the temple gates
Thy chastening wrath, O Lord, restrain
Thy mercy, Lord, our steadfast hope

Thy might, thy praises, Lord! which we
To bless thy chosen race....
To celebrate thy praise, O Lord
To Christ, the Lord Jehovah spake
To God our never-failing strength
To God's anointed shall the isles
To God, the mighty Lord
To Thee, in whom I trust
To Thee, the God of truth
To Zion's hill I lift my eyes

WE build with fruitless toil, unless
We waited meekly for the Lord
What, though with secrecy and care
Whene'er, O God, I ask thy aid
When God from sin's captivity
When we God's counsel have defied
Where Babylon's proud waters flow
Whom Lord in heaven but Thee alone
Who place on Sion's God their trust

Whoso hath God his guardian made

Ye worshippers of Jacob's God

ACCORDING to thy gracious word
Afflicted saints, to Christ draw near
Again the day returns of holy rest
Almighty God, thy piercing eye
Almighty God! thy word is cast
Angels, from the realms of glory
Awake, my soul, and with the sun

...

BEFORE Jehovah's awful throne
Beneath our feet and o'er our head
Beneath this consecrated roof again
Blessed are the poor in spirit,

Bound upon th' accursed tree

Brightest and best of the sons of the morning!

By cool Siloam's shady rill

Christ, the Lord, is risen to-day
Come, O Saviour, long expected,
Come let us join our cheerful songs
Creator Spirit! by whose aid

DEAD While they live are Adam's race
Dear Refuge of my weary soul !

...

FATHER of heaven, whose love profound,
Father of mercies, in thy word
Father of mercies, send thy grace
Fountain of Mercy, God of Love
From all that dwell below the skies
From Greenland's icy mountains,
From the first dawn of infant life
