Mr. Taylor introduced House Joint Resolution No. 5 as follows:

"Resolved: That January 29 be recognized as McKinley Day, a committee of three be appointed by the House, and the Council be requested to appoint a like committee, to prepare a program for Monday, January 30, (January 29 being Sunday) afternoon, and that the

two Houses sit together to carry out that program; should the Council refuse to acquiesce, that the Committee of the House act independently."

Upon motion that the rules be suspended and the resolution can be adopted, the roll call resulted: Ayes: Becker, Bone, Craig, Daniels, Ferris, Gandy, Gayman, Hogg, Levy, Logan, Lydick, Maxwell, Noffsinger, Prouty, Ross, Taylor, Walker, Woods, Mr. Speaker, 19; absent, Ballinger, Bryan, Fuller, Ingmire, Jester, McBride, Robinson, 7. The motion carried.

The motion carried and the House adjourned.

AFTERNOON SESSION.

The House reconvened with the Speaker in the chair.

Mr. Gandy moved that the House resolve itself into a Committee of the Whole for the purpose of considering bills on the Calendar. The motion carried.

The Speaker invited Mr. Bone to the chair.

The Committee of the Whole arose and reported as follows:

Mr. Speaker:

The Committee of the Whole having had under consideration House Bill No. 54, recommend that the same do pass as amended by the Committee, and House Bill No. 71 do pass.

The report was adopted.

Mr. Daniels asked that the records be corrected in regard to his mileage. The Speaker ordered the correction made.

Mr. Noffsinger moved that when the House. do adjourn it adjourn until Monday, 2 o'clock P. M., January 30, 1905. The motion carried. Upon motion by Mr. Becker the House adjourned.
