8. M.

2 Among the saints that fill Thine house,

My offerings shall be paid :
There shall

my zeal perform the vows
My soul in anguish made.
3 How happy all Thy servants are !

How great Thy grace to me!
My life, which Thou hast made Thy care,

Lord, I devote to Thee.
4 Here in Thy courts I leave my vow,
And Thy rich grace

Witness, ye saints, who hear me now,

If I forsake the Lord. 117

HY Name, Almighty Lord,

Shall sound through distant lands :
Great is Thy grace, and sure Thy word ;

Thy truth for ever stands.
2 Far be Thine honour spread,

And long Thy praise endure,
Till morning light and evening shade

Shall be exchanged no more.
3 Ye angels round the throne,

And saints that dwell below,
Worship the Father, praise the Son,

And bless the Spirit too ! 117

Version 2.
1 TROM all that dwell below the skies,

Let the Creator's praise arise !
Let the Redeemer's Name be sung
Through every land, by every tongue.

L. M.

2 Eternal are Thy mercies, Lord;

Eternal truth attends Thy word:
Thy praise shall sound from shore to shore,

Till suns shall rise and set no more. 118

To build our heavenly hopes upon,

And His eternal praise.
2 Chosen of God, to sinners dear,

And saints adore the Name;
They trust their whole salvation there,

Nor shall they suffer shame.
3 What though the gates of hell withstood,

Yet must this building rise :
'Tis Thine own work, Almighty God,

And wondrous in our eyes. 119

Part 1.
1 OW blest are they who always keep

and perfect way,
Who never from the sacred paths

Of God's commandments stray.
2 How blest, who to His righteous laws

Have still obedient been,
And have with rvent humble zeal

His favour sought to win.
3 O then that Thy most holy will

Might o'er my ways preside;
And I the course of all my

By Thy direction guide !

Part 2.
ORD, I have made Thy word my choice,

My lasting heritage:
There shall

powers rejoice,

best thoughts engage.
2 'Tis a broad land of wealth unknown,

Where springs of life arise,
Seeds of immortal bliss are sown,

And hidden glory lies.
3 The best relief that mourners have,

It makes our sorrows blest;
Our fairest hope beyond the grave,

And our eternal rest.

Part 3.

1 0 de my ways,

To keep His statutes still !
O that my God would grant me grace

To know and do His will !
2 Lord, send Thy Spirit down to write

Thy law upon my heart;
Nor let my tongue indulge deceit,

Nor act the liar's part.
3 From vanity turn off mine eyes ;

Let no corrupt design,
Nor covetous desire arise

Within this soul of mine.
4 Make me to walk in Thy commands,

'Tis a delightful road;
Nor let my head, or heart, or hands,

Offend against my God.

C. M.

Part 4.
1 INSTRUCT me in Thy statutes, Lord,

Thy righteous paths display ;
And I from them, through all my life,

Will never go astray.
2 If Thou true wisdom from above

Wilt graciously impart,
To keep Thy perfect laws I will

zealous heart. 3 Direct me in the sacred ways

To which Thy precepts lead :
Because my chief delight has been

Thy righteous paths to tread.
4 From those vain objects turn mine eyes,

Which this false world displays;
But give me lively power and strength

To keep Thy righteous ways. 121

UP skies;

Thence all her help my soul derives ;

There my Almighty refuge lives. 2 He lives, the everlasting God,

That built the world, that spread the flood;
The heavens with all their hosts He made,

And the dark regions of the dead.
3 He guides our feet, He guards our way,

His morning smiles bless all the day;
He spreads the evening veil, and keeps
The silent hours, while Israel sleeps.

C. M.

4 Israel, a name divinely blest,

May rise secure, securely rest ;
Thy Holy Guardian's wakeful eyes

Admit no slumber nor surprise.
5 Should earth and hell with malice burn,

Still thou shalt go, and still return
Safe in the Lord ; His heavenly care

Defends thy life from every snare.

my heart rejoice to hear
My friends devoutly say,
66 In Sion let us all

And keep the solemn day!”
2 I love her gates, I love the road;

The Church adorned with grace,
Stands like a palace built for God,

To shew His milder face.
3 Peace be within this sacred place,

And joy a constant guest !
With holy gifts and heavenly grace

Be her attendants blest !
4 My soul shall pray for Sion still

While life or breath remains ;
There my best friends, my kindred dwell,

There God my Saviour reigns. 122

Version 2.
1 WITH joy we hail the sacred day

Which God has called His own ;
With joy the summons we obey,

To worship at His throne.
