Constitution; a copy of this constitution is contained in U. S. Charters and Constitutions, Part II, p. 1620, where it is said: "This constitution was framed by the General Assembly of South Carolina . . . It was soon afterward declared by the Supreme Court of South Carolina that both the constitution of 1776 and the constitution of 1778 were simply Acts of the General Assembly, which that body could repeal or amend at pleasure."
