HYMN CXLIII. THERE is a dwelling-place above; For contrite hearts and souls distrest There is a voice to mercy true; There is a name in heaven bestowed; Where they shall reign with God on high, Lord, be it mine like them to choose HYMN CXLIV. THERE is a safe and secret place The least and feeblest there may hide, While thousands fall on every side, The angels watch him on his way, He feeds in pastures large and fair A hand almighty to defend, An honoured life, a peaceful end, HYMN CXLV. WHEN I can read my title clear I bid farewell to every fear, And wipe my weeping eyes. Should earth against my soul engage, Let cares like a wild deluge come, There shall I bathe my weary soul HYMN CXLVI. ON all the ways of God How grace and mercy shine! Father of every good, Or human or divine: By men on earth and saints in heaven To God alone be glory given. He sent His only Son Our sins and griefs to bear, And brought us into life, The children of His care: Worthy the Lamb, who reigns above, Of joyful praise and grateful love. To boundless realms of joy Unfading in the skies; Nor sun nor moon nor stars appear, Saints by His power are kept, Till God shall call us home: HYMN CXLVII. HAPPY the souls to Jesus join'd, The Church triumphant in Thy love, Thee, in Thy glorious realm, they praise, We, in the kingdom of Thy grace; The kingdoms are but one. The holy to the holiest leads; HYMN CXLVIII. ALMIGHTY God, tell all the world Thy fame, And shew them what the great Jehovah is; A holy God unchangeably the same, Of perfect truth and perfect righteousness; Whose sovereign word, whose just and holy will All things in heaven and in the earth fulfil. O gracious Father, send Thy Spirit forth, O gracious Father, let Thy kingdom come, To raise and bless and save our fallen race. The earth is Thine, set up Thy righteous throne, And claim, great God, the kingdoms for Thine own. |
