Life and Death, and the triumphant Resurrection and Ascension of the Redeemer. The last section contains Hymns for special occasions. In the appendix will be found a selection suitable to the wants and capacities of younger children. It is hardly necessary to remark that, in these days, a school may be taught singing with little trouble, and with the best effects, as many of our National Schools can testify. If this little volume shall be the means, under God, of either improving or extending so excellent a practice, I shall be more than recompensed for the pains and labour bestowed. Perhaps I may be permitted to add my belief that the “Scholar's Hymn Book" will be found useful in family and social worship, as well as in schools, and not without its value as a vehicle of religious instruction generally.
