CHAPTER 7

AN ACT to validate, legalize and confirm the proceedings in the matter of establishing the Halesite fire district, in the town of Huntington, county of Suffolk, New York, and authorizing the issuance of bonds of said district. Became a law February 19, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The resolution of the board of supervisors of the Ings rela county of Suffolk, New York, adopted on the ninth day of October, in the year one thousand nine hundred twenty-two, purporting to establish a fire district in the town of Huntington, Suffolk county, New York, known as the Halesite fire district, and all the acts and proceedings leading up to the adoption of said resolution, including the signing and presentation of the petition for the creation of said district, and all acts subsequent to the adoption of said. resolution relating to the establishment thereof, including the election and organization of the board of fire commissioners and all acts of the taxpayers, officials and agents of said district and of the town clerk in relation to the calling and holding of a special meeting therein on the second day of March, one thousand nine hundred twenty-three, for the purpose of voting a tax in the amount of fifty thousand dollars, to be collected in instalments, and authorizing the issuance of the bonds of said district in that amount, for the purpose of purchasing, renting or otherwise legally obtaining land within said district and erecting thereon a new fire house or headquarters, and purchasing fire equipment and apparatus, are hereby validated, legalized, ratified and confirmed; Bond issue and said fire district is hereby authorized to proceed, through its authorized. proper officers, to advertise, sell and issue the said bonds, in accordance with the provisions of the county law.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 8

AN ACT legalizing the action of the electors of the town of Islip, Suffolk county, in adopting a proposition to appropriate the sum of eight thousand dollars for extension and alteration of the town hall, and authorizing the town board of such town to use such money for the purchase of property adjoining the present town hall for town purposes.

Became a law February 19, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The action of the electors of the town of Islip, Suffolk county, in adopting a proposition on November fourth, nineteen hundred and nineteen, to appropriate the sum of eight thousand dollars for the extension and alteration of the town hall of such town, is hereby legalized and confirmed, and such money having

been raised and being now on deposit to the credit of the town, the town board of such town is hereby authorized and empowered to use such money, or so much thereof as may be necessary, for the purchase, on behalf of the town, of the property of the First National Bank of Islip, which immediately adjoins the present town hall, for providing more adequate facilities for the safekeeping of the town records and for other town purposes. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 9

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance for the purpose of the construction and improvement of public highways.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of one hundred and twelve thousand nine hundred and sixty dollars and twenty-eight cents ($112.960.28), being the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter ten of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two, to be expended for the construction of state and county highways, in accordance with the provisions of chapter four hundred of the laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 10

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance for the purpose of the construction and improvement of public highways.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of one hundred and twelve thousand four hundred and forty-three dollars and dollars and seventy-seven cents ($112,443.77), being the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter six hundred and sixty-nine of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty, and reappropriated by chapter nine of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two, to be expended for the construction of state and county highways, in accordance with the provisions of chapter four hundred of the laws of nineteen hundred and fifteen, is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 11

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance for the purpose of the construction and improvement of public highways.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of one hundred and fifty-nine thousand eight hundred and thirty-eight dollars and fifty-three cents ($159,838.53), being the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter five hundred and twenty-six of the laws of nineteen hundred and fourteen reappropriated by chapter six of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two, to be expended for the construction and improvement of public highways in accordance with the provisions of article six of chapter thirty of the laws of nineteen hundred and nine, entitled "An act relating to highways, constituting chapter twenty-five of the consolidated laws," is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 12

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance for the purpose of the construction and improvement of public highways.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of two hundred and fifteen thousand, one hundred and fifty-two dollars and fifty-eight cents ($215,152.58), being the unexpended balance of the amount reappropriated by chapter seven of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two, to be expended for the construction and improvments of public highways, in accordance with the provisions of article six of chapter thirty of the laws of nineteen hundred and nine, entitled "An act relating to highways, constituting chapter twenty-five of the consolidated laws," is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 13

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance to provide for the state's share of the cost of the construction and improvement of rural post roads within the state pursuant to certain acts of congress which provide that the United States shall aid the states in the construction of rural post roads, and for other purposes, to be expended in accordance with article six-a of the highway law.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of two million five hundred and fifty-eight thousand nine hundred and nine dollars and five cents ($2 558,909.05) being the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter eleven of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two, to be expended for the state's share of the cost of the construction and improvement of rural post roads, in accordance with article six-a of the highway law, is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 14

AN ACT reappropriating an unexpended balance for the payment by the state in the first instance of the federal government's share of the cost of construction and improvement of rural post roads within the state as provided by an act of congress, entitled "An act to provide that the United States shall aid the states in the construction of rural post roads and for other purposes."

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of two million, three hundred and thirtyfive thousand, six hundred and fifty-four dollars and fifty-seven cents ($2,335,654.57) being the unexpended balance of the appropriation made by chapter eight of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-two to be expended for the payment by the state in the first instance of the federal government's share of the cost of construction and improvement of rural post roads is hereby reappropriated from the same funds and for the same purposes as originally appropriated.

§ 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 15

AN ACT making an appropriation for the construction of state and county highways as designated in sections one hundred and twenty and one hundred and twenty-one of the highway law, and for other purposes.

Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of three million dollars ($3,000,000) is hereby appropriated from any moneys in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated, to be expended for the payment of the state's share of the cost of construction of state and county highways designated and described in sections one hundred and twenty and one hundred and twenty-two of the highway law, and indicated on a map approved by chapter eighteen of the laws of nineteen hundred and twenty-one as amended. Moneys hereby appropriated, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be expended on those highways indicated on such map on which it is impracticable or inadvisable to secure federal aid, and shall be so allocated among the counties as to carry out as far as practicable the apportionment provided in section one hundred and twenty-one of the highway law, and the state's share of the cost of construction of any county highway improved from funds made available by this act shall be as provided in section one hundred and twenty-one. The moneys hereby appropriated, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall also be available for the elimination or alteration of any railroad crossing on a state or county highway heretofore or hereafter to be constructed. § 2. This act shall take effect immediately.

CHAPTER 16

AN ACT making an appropriation for the payment by the state in the first instance of the federal government's share of the cost of the construction and improvement of rural post roads within the state pursuant to an act of congress entitled "An act to provide that the United States shall aid the states in the construction of rural post roads and for other purposes." Became a law February 20, 1924, with the approval of the Governor. Passed, three-fifths being present.

The People of the State of New York, represented in Senate and Assembly, do enact as follows:

Section 1. The sum of fifty-six thousand and twenty-one dollars and seventy-five cents ($56,021.75) is hereby appropriated from any moneys in the state treasury not otherwise appropriated payable by the state treasurer on the warrant of the comptroller. Such sum, or so much thereof as may be necessary, shall be available for the payment in the first instance of the share of the federal government of the cost of the construction or reconstruction
