He has experienced a good many long vacations in what is beginning to be called his career, a term which has a retrospective sense, like the he flourished of the annalist - and, upon the whole, he prefers Term Time. When the mind has become mature (and the body, perhaps, not quite so elastic as it used to be) we recognise the fact that enjoyment consists mainly in comfort, and that there can be no real pleasure without it.
